For our work, WAPT’s mission is to support female, male, and LGBT individuals engaging in sex work in Sierra Leone, in leading healthy and dignified lives. Using a harm reduction model, WAPT’s programs strive to address the impact that HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, discrimination, poverty, violence and drug use on the lives of individuals engaging in sex work.

WAPT is a support and advocacy group for all people in the sex industry in Sierra Leone. We welcome all current or former sex workers, including male, female or transgender prostitutes, and so on.

WAPT also advocates the decriminalization of LGBT issues and prostitution and calls for an end to illegal police activity - such as street raids - in the enforcement of existing laws that are not rights base friendly.
We provide legal and health referrals to MSM, sex workers and the larger transgender community. We in addition encourage members to recommend doctors, therapists and other professionals who provide quality services in sex education and healthcare access.
